An incredible canvas made from only the finest prepared linens with a robust weight and 5 coats of priming creating a rich, smooth surface of unequaled beauty. Made in Italy, the preparation of the canvas is all done by hand, much the same way you would but with special materials and processes to create a most pleasing canvas to work with. The 5 coats are comprised of a rabbit skin glue sealer applied to linen that is first washed, dried, picked and pumiced in an Old World tradition. 

When dry, two coats of acrylic gesso are applied to give the canvas elasticity which allows you to get an extremely tight stretched canvas preventing sagging and re-stretching. 

Finally, two coats of oil primer are applied, creating a most receptive surface for oil colors. When painting you'll notice that your colors have a more fluid and delicate line, and thanks to the little absorbency of the material your art always remains bright and natural. If you paint large, the 535 gram weight provides essential strength. 

Specially imported from Italy this canvas is superb for portrait artists but is equally exquisite for virtually any technique where you want to see just a hint of the linen surface, with just enough tooth to hold even heavy layers of paint, while still obtaining the smooth, rich texture inherent in any professional portrait canvas.
