Creative Mark was challenged by professional artists to create a canvas that they could rely upon. Professionals wanted linen because linen has stood the test of time lasting for 5 centuries and more. So Creative Mark went back to the drawing board and the result is the 2005 Centurion LX Stretched Canvas. Each canvas is hand-stretched with staple-free paintable sides and a super neat tongue and groove construction.

The heavy weight 11 oz. linen has a very uniform appearance with a medium texture. The priming is acid-free and applied in three layers, resulting in a surface with a uniform medium texture that will take oils, acrylics, alkyds and caseins. Oils and alkyds which can be problematic with lesser canvases are taken beautifully for vivid results with Centurion LX premium surface. The stretcher bars have been redesigned with kiln dried wood and cross bracing for all the larger sizes for lasting value.
