Sennelier Oil Color Varnishes
- Barrier Varnish - Intermediate varnish used to isolate paint layers. Reduces the risk of sinkage, and allows repainting. May be over-varnished. Gives a clear gloss film.
- Extra-Fine Damar Picture Varnish - Concentrated damar gum-based final varnish. Gives an attractive glossy high-build film. Only apply on completely dry paintings. Avoid application in damp weather.
- Gloss Picture Varnish - Synthetic resin-based final varnish. Completely colorless and dries rapidly. Gives a resistent, but not easily reversible film. May be thinned with turpentine.
- Mastic Gum Varnish - Final varnish that gives a resistant, high gloss, high-build film. May alter over time. Easily reversible. Only apply on completely dry paintings.
- Matte Picture Varnish - Synthetic final varnish with a matte finish. Rapid drying, colorless. Only apply to completely dry paintings. May be thinned with turpentine.
- Satin Picture Varnish - Synthetic resin-based varnish. Rapid drying, colorless, satin finish, non-yellowing and highly resistant. Transparent, reflection-free finish.
- Turner Retouch Varnish - Light, rapid drying. Used to correct sinkage or for restoring oil work on a dry base. May be used as a temporary painting varnish. Can be thinned with petroleum spirits or turpentine.
