These beautiful wood panels are imported from Italy. Crafted from a superb natural wood called Pioppo which has excellent strength, even in large sizes. The wood is sanded smooth and the back is ridged along the perimeter to facilitate easy framing and handling. The old world acid-free gesso has a matte, buffed appearance and is much more absorbent then other gesso panels using traditional gesso primers.
