Bleached Linseed Oil - Cold pressed oil of linseed which is subsequently bleached. Enhances the flow of paint and enable brush strokes to be removed. Enhances gloss, but lengthens the drying time. Can be thinned with turpentine of white spirit.
Cold Pressed Linseed - Cold pressed oil of linseed which has been pressed in a windmill. Enhances the flow of paint and enable brush strokes to be removed. Enhances gloss, but lengthens the drying time. Can be thinned with turpentine of white spirit.
Damar Varnish - Use as a varnish for reviving dull areas on a painting. Dries within hours and produces an even gloss that does not effect the paint layers.
Mastic Varnish - Hand varnish that often turns milky and produces an even high gloss. To be used approximately one year after the paint is thoroughly dry.
Refined Poppy Oil - Obtained from the first pressing of poppy seeds. Maintains many of the qualities of linseed oil, but yellows less and dries even more slowly. Great for light colors.
Retouching Varnish - Used for reviving areas which have become dull. Dries within hours and is made on the basis of ketone resin, dissolved in white spirit.
Stand Oil - Boiled polymerized linseed oil enhances the flow of of oil paint and enables brush strokes to be removed. Yellows less than linseed oil and dries slower. Suitable for the practice of the glazing techniques.
