Yellow Ochre

Ochre pigments date back to pre-history and the earliest forms of painting. They are comprised of silica and clay, and the colour of each is due to the oxide (hydrous or anhydrous) within the structure. In addition to the use of naturally derived oxides, pigment chemistry allows for the selection of synthetically derived or altered oxides to offer specific working properties. Yellow Ochre is warm and subdued. Excellent for earth tones and subdued shadows.
